We are less than 2 weeks away from the end of the quarter already.  Blink a few more times and it will be Christmas.

In U.S. History, we have been talking about the first half of the 19th century.  The age of Jefferson, the War of 1812 and the Louisiana Purchase are some highlights.  The students have done some great speeches along with their normal homework, quizzes, tests and discussion in class.

Mr. Kipfer continues to be entertaining as well as educational as he enlightens us in many areas of religion.  One of the assignments included interviewing an "older" person in the church and asking them some questions.

In M.S. Science, we have been studying botany.  The students did a great job making "Leaf Posters".  Also, there will be a science fair contest this coming Tuesday during last period.  The younger students will vote on who did the best for a prize!  The projects will also be displayed during parent/teacher conference after fall break.

This coming Friday, the M.S. plans to make their annual trip to Finance Park.  Thanks to Kim Schaden for taking them.

In Chemistry, we have been studying anything and everything about the structure and function of the periodic table along with characteristics of each type atom.   There is a $100 reward for any student who auctions themselves off to sing the element song.

In Physics, we are working with motion in 2 dimensions which includes gravity, parabolic motion and the range equation.  Fun fact: if you shoot a bullet horizontally and drop a bullet from the same height, they will hit the ground at the same time.

Reminder. The sophomores and Juniors will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, November 1.  It is a 3 hour test that helps prepare them for SAT among other benefits.
