In U.S. History, we began studying the Reconstruction era after the Civil War along with the road to expanding our country from "sea to shining sea".
Mr. Kipfer asked 2 Vietnam Veterans to come in and share their non-combatant testimony with the class. We had to miss Mike Meece due to a cancelled day of school, but I'm sure Gary Maibach will be very interesting!
In M.S. Science, we have began studying taxonomy. How do scientists all over the world who speak many different languages use the same system to classify living things?
I also began teaching Economics this semester. The students have been doing a great job in class discussion (probably because they get participation points for it, ha ha). We are using Crown Financial in the curriculum along with a great YouTube teaching video.
In Chemistry, we are studying molecular Geometry. Why does a water molecule have the shape that it does? Ask one of our intelligent sophomores and they will be able to explain it.
In Physics, we have been studying momentum. If a fat cat is chasing a small mouse, but the mouse is running twice as fast as the cat, which has greater momentum? Again, the Juniors will be glad to fill you in on this fascinating topic.
