As play practice has pushed the kids more, we've cut back in the classes a little bit. We can do this because we don't take a lot of days off during the rest of the year. The alternate schedule may be exciting at first, but after a while, it gets cumbersome. Instead of having time in class to do homework, they have to learn to squeeze it in between scenes. However, since the play is coming along nicely, it keeps the kids' spirits up. This helps when there seems to be too much work and too little time.

In Pre-Calculus, they are learning to convert from rectangular to polar form. Polar form deals a lot with angles and radii. Engineers deal with this when they think about the different forces on buildings, roads, vehicles, or anything else they design.

It seems like Algebra II can't get away from quadratic equations. There are three different main stream ways used to solve these equations, and they've now learned all three. This is used a lot when we study the path of a ball thrown or kicked and the path a rocket takes when it's shot off.

Algebra I is working on the first and easiest of the three ways used to solve quadratic equations. Initially, it looked daunting, but it's actually pretty easy.

Pre-Algebra has been working with boxes. You can use boxes to visually break down word problems dealing with percentages, fractions, or ratios. Using boxes to solve many real life problems (dealing with math) is beneficial.

Although the kids are extremely busy, they're doing well. It's just a blessing to be part of what goes on at Kingdom Academy!
