Out of this initial struggle a second type of conflict emerged, man at war with himself. After the fall when Adam and Eve "heard the voice of the Lord God" they hid themselves.
This second conflict produced yet another conflict, man against man. When confronted with his disobedience, Adam's loving attitude toward his wife vanished.
The students have been challenged to find these conflicts in the stories from the unit. In unit two we will be be talking about character traits and what makes good character.
11th English--We are reading "Scratch Beginnings" (Me, $25 and the search for the American Dream) this is about a man who decides to put himself in the situation where he is living in a shelter and trying to work his way out of poverty. We have taken several "tests" to see to see if you could live in poverty or if you identify more with the middle class or wealthy. It has given good insight into what God has blessed us with and what "being a good steward of our money" looks like.
Middle School Grammar and Literature--We are busy with verbs in Grammar. This week learning the difference between linking verbs and transitive/intransitive verbs. Linking verbs have a predicate nominative/adjective and transitive verbs lead to an indirect and direct object.
In Literature we have finished unit one on Friends and we are now on unit two, Choices. I love this selection of stories, it gives us great discussion topics such as "If you were in that situation, what would you do?" "What would God want us to do?"
Rosetta Stone-The students are working hard!! It is a little crazy
hearing all the different languages going on. Sometimes I have to laugh a little.
9/10 P.E.--I have loved the weather so far! We have been able to be outside almost every day. A few of those have been pretty hot. The kids are running at the start of the hour and then we have been playing Frisbee football, roof ball, soccer, bad-mitten, kickball, Wiffle ball and popsbee ball.
