Definitely the countdown until summer! We finished  the book "The Giver" in English 9/10.  This has brought up several good questions....What would a society be like that was "controlled" by a board of elders?  What if people could not feel pain, joy or any emotion?

English 11 are still reading "Great Expectations"  This is a little bit of a tough read.  It has advanced vocabulary packed into heavy descriptive /figurative language writing.  It is interesting to know that Dickens wrote this and then published it in installments over a two-year period in a weekly magazine.  December 1, 1860-February 16, 1861.

Health--We are reviewing over our final test over Chapters 1-8.  I love the new Health books and have learned several things this semester.  For example, the liver is the only organ in the body that has the ability to regenerate itself. Both the donor and the recipient's livers grow back to full size approximately 3 months after the surgery.

Middle School--
We are finishing our unit on "Family" in literature and are working on" Capitalization" in grammar.  We are planning a Dandelion Day before school is out.  We will be reading poems about Dandelions and studying them....we will actually be finding recipes and eating them!! Image result for dandelion
