In English 11 we are researching jobs in different businesses. They are finding out what the interviewing process is and how hard it is to get a job there. Our study has been on poverty...what causes it, how it affects children and their learning and what we can do about it. Many studies have shown that when a business says "hiring" that isn't really what they mean.
Speech class has been very exciting these last two weeks! The kids are giving their demonstrative speeches.
There has been some very interesting topics such as: How to sew on a button, how to jump start your dead battery, how to change a chainsaw blade, how to measure the moisture in your corn and many others.
Middle school have been busy learning how to identify adjectives. We have been working with comparing with adjectives. Positive, comparative, and superlative forms, articles and possessives. They have also been reading stories in Literature on the topic of generosity. This has been a great study and provokes a lot of interesting questions and conversations.
It was service project day on Thursday the 13th. The high school and middle school raked leaves for a few people in and around Bluffton!!
We are also super excited about Quinn and Sarah Fiechter's baby girl on the way.....the school surprised her with a party!
