Great start of the last nine weeks. With the play behind us the 9/10 English class are working on writing prompts. With a list of 50 ideas they are picking one to write a descriptive, exciting account of what ever topic they picked. One of the topics is "Write about a time in your life when you struggled with a choice and made the right one."
11th grade--We are starting the book "To kill a Mockingbird." This book deals with the opposition to the idea of equal rights for blacks. By 1914, every Southern state had established laws that kept black and white citizens separated. Although these laws would continue to be challenged in the legal system, the legal structure of segregation did not begin to crumble until the passage of civil rights legislation in the 1960s. This book contains such great History and topics. It is always a favorite.
The middle school are studying pronoun usage such as who and whom, we and us. Cindy Lemmen has been coming in on Wednesdays and doing special projects with the students. Last week they worked on creating a Photo Essay. The projects were very informative and the pictures and posters were awesome!
9/10 P.E. --This week we played basketball. The weather is getting warm so we are ready to be outside soon!
