In High School and Middle School World history we have been studying Asia and African history and we just started a chapter on Ancient Egypt.
In M.S. Science, we have been studying Astronomy. The students did some great Telescope Presentations. Next week we will begin a Unit on matter and how it behaves and is measured.
In Biology, we have studied earthworms and arthropods so far. As you could see in pictures, we dissected an earthworm and crayfish. We are studying fish this chapter and will be dissecting Rainbow Trout next week. Pictures to come. Dennis will be hungry I'm sure.
Chemistry has been studying kinetic and potential energy in matter and we plan to hit the elements and periodic table next week. Thanks to a mom, we have some cool flash cards to help memorize atomic symbols. If any student memorizes the "Element Song", they will receive bonus points.
Physics has been working with kinetics which deals with matter in motion. Did you know that on the moon a hammer and feather will hit the ground at the same time when dropped? Don't believe me? Watch it on Youtube. Now the real question is why?
Human Anatomy (Ella Stoller) has been reviewing cytology (study of cells) and we just finished a chapter on tissue structure and function. Everyday the typical human loses 100 hairs! She is now ready for a test on the skeletal system.
The year is cruising by already with almost 1/8 done already! Stay in touch if you have comments/questions.
