Don't forget to pitch in some $$$ for the children we sponsor in Haiti!  Only one more week until Christmas break.  In History we have been studying the Civil War for the past few weeks.  Did you know more Americans were slaughtered in this war than all other American wars combined?

In M.S. Science we have been working on meteorology for a few weeks.  The students have been doing a great job on researching and learning about all sorts of weather related topics from the 3 climate zones of the earth to how a tornado forms to some of the most powerful natural disasters in history.

Biology has moved into the micro world.  We began by reviewing the microscope itself and now have started to classify and study bacteria.  If 1 bacterium begins reproducing via asexual reproduction, guess how many there will be in 15 hours if conditions are right?  100?  Million?  Nope. A billion!

Physics has been finishing up a Rube Goldberg project to be viewed before Christmas break.  Chemistry is reviewing atomic behavior and structure and Human Anatomy has been looking into the complex and amazing world of our nervous system.  Special guest Dr. Lemmen (a neurologist) came into class one day to put some real life meaning into all the textbook explanations.  We hope he comes again soon.
